Possibility of Installing Wind Turbines along Highways in Uzbekistan

FULL TEXT:

Abstract

Relevance: in Uzbekistan, the use of renewable energy sources is of particular relevance. Wind energy plays a key role in ensuring the stability of the power system, reducing dependence on imports, and addressing environmental issues. Installing wind turbines along highways is considered an innovative solution for the country.

Aim: the main objective of this paper is to study the feasibility of installing wind turbines along highways in the Kashkadarya region, to calculate their techno-economic efficiency, and to evaluate their environmental significance.

Methods: the research applied theoretical analysis, mathematical calculations, graphical methods, and economic evaluation. Statistical wind speed data and vehicle traffic flow modeling were also used to support the calculations.

Results: if 10,000 turbines are installed along highways, the total annual energy production will reach approximately 6.2 million kWh. This energy can be used for road lighting, charging electric vehicles, and supplying local networks.
