Ecological water treatment technology in thermal power plants

Abstract

Relevance: the globalization of environmental problems requires new ways of thinking. The reliability and efficiency of CHP plants largely depend on the quality of feed water. The discharge of chemical reagents into water bodies is intensifying ecological problems.


Aim: to reduce water treatment costs at thermal power plants, optimize reagent and resin consumption, and demonstrate the effectiveness of the “EKOTEX” IBE technology implementation.


Methods: comparative analysis of thermal and chemical desalination technologies, study of practical operation results and technical-economic indicators of “EKOTEX” IBE units.


Results: “EKOTEX” IBE technology confirmed ecological and economic advantages over chemical desalination. The distillate cost is twice lower than conventional methods, with a project payback period of 2-3 years.
