Innovative Approaches to Improving and Analyzing Power Quality in 0.4 kV Networks

FULL TEXT:

Abstract

Relevance: in modern conditions of development, 0.4 kV electrical networks play an important role in the uninterrupted power supply of a large number of industrial and high-voltage systems. The quality of electric power depends on factors such as voltage parameters, frequency, and harmonic composition, as well as the efficiency and operating duration of electrical consumers. Voltage fluctuations in the network, harmonic disturbances, and issues related to reactive power lead to inefficient energy consumption, which subsequently causes rapid wear and tear of equipment and devices. This means that the quality of electric power must be improved through new innovative research, which requires regular automatic monitoring during seasonal periods, the use of contactless switching devices in automatic control systems of modern equipment, as well as microcontroller-based management used for digitalization, based on modern software and algorithms. The ongoing research in this field contributes to enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the energy system.

Aim: analysis of factors affecting power quality in 0.4 kV electrical networks, identification of existing problems, and improvement of power supply efficiency through the implementation of innovative technologies to eliminate them.

Methods: in the preparation of this article, the factors affecting the power quality in 0.4 kV electrical networks were studied, and experiment, modeling, and numerical analysis were conducted as methods of scientific research. In real power networks, measurements were conducted to assess the levels of harmonic distortion, voltage fluctuations, and asymmetry. The modeling was carried out using Electronics Workbench and MATLAB R2014a software. To study automated monitoring systems (automated electricity metering and control system) using an innovative method, an analysis was carried out with the help of artificial intelligence and a strategy for improving power quality indicators. The obtained results are presented as recommendations that can be applied in practice.

Results: in 0.4 kV electrical networks, power quality is of great importance. This study examined issues such as voltage stability enhancement, harmonic distortion reduction, and reactive power compensation. As innovative solutions, digital monitoring systems, contactless switching relays, and automated control systems were proposed. According to the analysis results, these approaches can reduce energy losses and improve the stability of power supply. At the same time, it will become possible to manage electricity consumption efficiently. Thus, the proposed innovative technologies (contactless switching devices) play an important role in improving the quality of network electricity.
